Some Christmas gifts

Here are some boxes I made for Christmas gifts for my kids teachers. I put chocolate covered pretzels and a Starbucks gift card in each one. I followed the instructions found here on Splitcoast.









I also made this card at Archiver's one morning. It was a free make and take.



Plus I made this pail. It was a $5 make and take at Archiver's. However the line was so long to make it that we just got the supplies and took it home. I made it several days later then put candy in it and used it as part of my bunco gift.





I have had these pictures on my desktop to publish these for a while and am just now getting around to it. Maybe I should have made a resolution to be a better blogger in 2010.

Mini coaster albums

I have been so busy making photo tile coasters for my friends that I haven't had time to make much else. But I did make these mini scrapbooks from thin chipboard coasters for my BIL and SIL's for Christmas. I had printed the pictures a few weeks ago with every intention of getting these done early for Christmas but ended up making them late on Christmas Eve. I think they turned out fairly cute and my SIL's loved them. Anyone who doesn't scrapbook finds things like this great regardless of whether I think they are very good.

More Photo Coasters

I made three more sets of photo coasters on Friday night (I went to another crop). These are for my BIL and both SIL's families for Christmas. I am pretty sure they don't read this blog (I can barely get them to read my personal blog) so I think I am safe posting them. I think these turned out much better than the ones I posted the other day.

Photo coasters

I was so excited to try these yesterday when I got home. I followed this tutorial found on Splitcoast (where else?). I am somewhat happy with the way they turned out. I think my coasters are too dark (you know not white enough). For some reason when I was swiping the modge podge on them they seemed to get dirty. By the last one I did (the one on the bottom right in the first picture) there was black dirty stuff on my brush, and I did wipe off the coasters. Oh well, I was just too thrilled that the pictures actually printed on tissue paper through my printer. I am going to try and get some different coasters and make several of these as gifts for Christmas.

A little late but

Here is one last ornament I made on Christmas Eve. I used some left over laminating stuff from something I laminated at school. I stamped my image using staz-on and colored in with sharpies. Then I rolled it up and stuck down in the clear ornament and then poured some silver glitter inside.

Domino Ornaments

I bought a package of Dominoes at the Dollar General and stamped an image on them with staz-on. Then I used sharpies to color in the santas. I attached a ribbon to the back and put a small strip of paper on to cover it on the back.

A can instead of a bag

Kaitlyn has two teachers this year so I made them some monogram notecards, a post-it holder with matching pen and an ornament. Instead of using a bag to put it in I covered a formula can with paper. Then I punched a hole in the sides using my crop-a-dile (see yesterday's post) and tied a ribbon on it with a scalloped ornament on the side. Then I stuffed some tissue paper in them just like a bag. I am happy with the way they turned out except for the fact that I ran out ribbon for the second one so the handle is kinda short.

Noel Blocks

I saw a set of blocks on a blog I visit often called StampinMama. I wanted to try these for myself so I went to Hobby Lobby and got some 2 inch blocks. I sanded them down and painted them red. Then I cut squares of paper and used modge podge to adhere the paper to the blocks. I then used some chipboard letters that I had painted red and glue dotted those to the blocks once they dried. I am pretty pleased with how it looks. Now I just have to go back and get some more blocks to try this again.

Rolled up Ornament

I had several strips of paper left over from making those paper trees so I decided to make these glass ball ornaments with my left overs that I had seen several places. All I did was roll up the strips of paper and drop them down into the ball. This did take more strips that I had anticipated and it still is not as full as I would have liked but it works. I found these glass ball ornaments in a package of 3 at dollar tree. So that makes this a cute yet inexpensive project.

Scallop ornaments

I got this new scallop punch the other day and I love it. I cannot believe I waited so long so get it. I have punched so many scallops out. I made these simple paper ornaments. I punched 6 scallops out, folded them in half, and adhered them together. I think they will also make the cutest little package toppers.
