Kaitlyn's L2L scrapbook

My daughter, Kaitlyn, participated in the Lads to Leaders program at our church. One of the events you can compete in is scrapbooking. She worked on the group scrapbook for our church and it won 2nd place. Then she also completed her individual scrapbook. They have to have some things included such as a cover, table of contents, introduction, conclusion and it is supposed to center around the theme of convention this year which was "all that you command us we will do and wherever you send us we will go", Joshua 1:16. Her scrapbook won 3rd place in the 3rd-4th grade division!

Baby shower thank you's

I have two baby showers to attend on Saturday. I made a set of thank you cards for one of the girls. I used this card for inspiration.







Supplies used: Pale Plum card base, Perfect Plum and Pretty in Pink accents, Old SU patterned paper, scallop punch, circle punch, Baby stamp from the Tag Time.


And Kaitlyn decided she wanted to make a card too. Here is her version:

Little Stamper

I went to Archiver's today and Kaitlyn happened to be with me. She decided that I needed to buy her some paper. So I directed her to the clearance section and told her she could pick out a few sheets, I then went to get what I went in there for in the first place. She picked out 5 sheets of paper and found these glitter letter stickers she thought she needed too. I ended up spending about twice as much money as I intended. So of course when we got home she was dying to stamp. In about an hour and a half she stamped 6 cards. I gave her an old idea book I had and she copied 6 different cards. In that same amount of time I made 6 cards except mine were all the same. Now in my defense I did have to keep stopping and help her cut the paper but all in all she out stamped me tonight. Here are the cards she made:







And she was so proud of herself (as was I).
*ETA-- I guess I should have said that she is 8 years old and will be in the third grade next year. She also is ADHD and so the fact that she sat and did this for an hour and a half is amazing.

Free Make and Take

Last weekend for National Scrapbook Day my favorite store, Archiver's, had a free make and take. I took Kaitlyn shopping on Saturday so she was with me when we stopped in. We both made the card (and made sure to use the Mother's Day sentiment stamped on it) and then Kaitlyn made the border. She had so much fun, especially making the border. She is going to start her first scrapbook for the lads to leaders program this summer and I will probably slowly begin taking her to some crops. I could not be prouder. A friend of mine gave Kaitlyn some scrapping stuff for her birthday. Kaitlyn had a little gift box so she decided to cover it. She was so proud of herself, she gave it to my mom for Christmas.
