Photo shoot page

I took my kids to the park on an early spring day in March last year and last minute grabbed my camera and changed their shirts real fast so I could try and take some posed pictures of them. I have tried to scrap these pictures for about 10 months now and every time I get them out and try to pick out paper and a layout it just doesn't work for me. I finally did this page for Kaitlyn's book with the pictures of her. I really like how the page turned out.

I did turn mine sideways from the layout of the original. This is one page down for March. I have 6 others that I have started but they need several things down to them before they can be called complete. Hopefully I can get that done this weekend.

big backyard page 2

I made this page for Kyle's book of our Big Backyard outing. I had a lot of pictures that I wanted to include on this layout and couldn't really crop them down a whole lot. I kinda wish I had put the word backyard on the right side and centered the word big a little more on the brown part but decided to just leave it because it was fine.








I used this page from Creating Keepsakes, August 2009 as inspiration.

We got this really cool new exhibit at the Memphis Botanic Gardens this past summer. It is a great place to take lots of photos.

This page is for Kaitlyn's book of our Big Backyard outing. I was at my BIL's house so I had to create the arrow myself since I didn't have a template. So don't look too closely at it because I am not real thrilled with the way it turned out. But I am very happy with the way the page as a whole turned out so I guess it evened out.







I used this page as inspiration that Lisa Bearnson did from Creating Keepsakes, January 2009. She used a Becky Higgins sketch as her inspiration.

The other day I finally got my scrapbook mojo back! I made 17 pages in one day! We were out at my BIL's house and the boys were watching the never-ending Daytona 500. I have not made any pages since September. I made this two page spread of Kaitlyn's recent 10 yr. old birthday party.

Project Life

I participated in Project 365 for 2009 so naturally I wanted to continue and got the kit for 2010 called Project Life. So far I have taken a picture everyday but I am not sure that will continue. I have completed the first two weeks with the kit though and I am really happy with the way it is turning out.

Some Christmas gifts

Here are some boxes I made for Christmas gifts for my kids teachers. I put chocolate covered pretzels and a Starbucks gift card in each one. I followed the instructions found here on Splitcoast.









I also made this card at Archiver's one morning. It was a free make and take.



Plus I made this pail. It was a $5 make and take at Archiver's. However the line was so long to make it that we just got the supplies and took it home. I made it several days later then put candy in it and used it as part of my bunco gift.





I have had these pictures on my desktop to publish these for a while and am just now getting around to it. Maybe I should have made a resolution to be a better blogger in 2010.

Snowmen cards

I made a set of cards for a friend of mine for her birthday. It took me a month before I actually saw her to give her this part of her gift but I finally saw her and gave these to her on Saturday night so I can now post them.

I made two different cards. The first is just a simple snowman card. The second is a sort of snow globe card. I have seen several people who made their version of the card on the back of the SU holiday mini catalog so I decided to join the crowd.




Supplies used: snowman stamp from TLC, snowflake stamp from SU Frosty set, white base, Brocade Blue and Close to Cocoa cardstock, Oval punch, White craft ink, Close to Cocoa ink, colored pencils, fancy scallop edge punch

I made a set of these 4 cards for my secret sister also. I was inspired by these cards I found on a blog I follow. These cards are a great way to use some scraps of patterned paper.





Supplies used: patterned paper from American Crafts, Curvy Verses stamp set, Night of Navy ink, Navy ribbon, Old Olive, Rose Red, Regal Rose, and Sky Blue cardstock

Christmas card cased

I made a set of these cards for my secret sister as part of her revealing gift. I had this card in my favorites on SCS. The only thing I changed was the ribbon color and the stamps I used.



Supplies used: Certainly Celery, Real Red, Always Artichoke and Chocolate Chip cardstock, circle punches, chocolate ribbon, Chocolate chip ink

Thank you cards

I made a set these thank you cards for my friend Jayme who is getting married on the beach in a couple of weeks. I copied the idea from my friend Amy who copied the idea from the Archiver's website. They were very simple to make.

Don't Blink page

I saw this page on Stacy Julian's blog a while back. I loved it and knew exactly what page I wanted to create using this idea. I have two children and the youngest started Kindergarten this year. I received some pictures in the mail yesterday (including this 5x7 that I had been waiting on to make the page with) and made this page last night. It is very simple but it is one of my favorite pages.

It's a Blizzard page

I copied this idea from a magazine of course but I love how the page turned out. I made this page for Kyle's book, it is from our snow day back in February.

8 pages in one night

I am in the midst of a contest this year involving a challenge my CM consultant put us up to. The challenge is to create a minimum of 8 pages per month (it started out as 2 per week but then evolved). I am in the running with 3 other ladies. I am way behind at least 2 of them, probably all three. Part of the challenge is that you have to create at least your 8 pages each month. If all do that then the tie breaker would be who created the most. Well it was August 31 and I had not completed any pages for August yet so even though I had to get at 5:30 and go to work the next day, I stayed up, neglected anything around the house that needed to be done and scrapped. I got all 8 pages finished just shy of midnight (so I am not out yet). Here are 6 of those pages (2 of them are really bad), these are not my favorite pages by any means but they are not half bad and the best part is they are finished.

Slip n Slide page. I had created the journal box and 6x6 strip on the right side of the page at Archiver's during a make and take weekend a while back. I was just waiting for the perfect pictures to put on it. So really all I had to do to this page was add the orange background paper and letter stickers, journal a little and this page was complete.


I recently got the new 12 inch circle cutter from CM so of course I had to use it on one of the pages.
