Softball page

Here is another page I did last Friday night at the crop. It is a simple page of Kaitlyn's softball this past spring.



I am loving the new In Color Red Riding Hood, it seems to match a lot of what I have been doing lately!

Mosaic

Here is another double page layout I have been working on. This idea for a layout is kinda outdated but I have always wanted to do a mosaic page but have never had the perfect pictures. Well in March we went to the Opryland Hotel for the Lads to Leaders convention and I took lots of pictures of my kids and a few of the flowers. I just have to journal on the pink block but otherwise I like the way it turned out.

Favorites at 5

I saw this idea in one of my Creating Keepsakes for a page idea. Kyle just turned 5 so I thought it was a perfect idea. I asked him what his favorites were. I asked him again the next day just to see if he would tell me the same thing and he says "I already told you that". I guess he liked his answers the first time.

I used Carrie's Making Memories paint to paint my chipboard letters. I didn't have the 5 when I did the page on Friday night so I had to go and buy a 5. I decided to glitter the 5 to make it stand out more. I was really liking this page until I glittered the 5, I didn't like how that turned out so I may go buy another one and just paint it.

Glitter chipboard letters

I am so into using chipboard lately on my pages. I wanted some arrows to point on the picture where Kaitlyn is on the ride (since I did not take my good camera with the zoom to the amusement park). I couldn't find any stickers but I did find these chipboard pieces. Well then I decided I needed chipboard letters for my title to go with the arrows. I stamped them in Regal Rose craft ink. Then I decided I would put some irredesent ice on them and heat emboss it. So I got a little carried away but I love the way it turned out.

Almost a month

Ack, I can't believe it has been almost a month since I have posted anything to this blog. I have been making some scrapbook pages just not taking the pictures of them. It is actually easier for me to update this blog during the school year because at home I don't have a desk and pictures seem to upload faster at school. But I took several pictures of some things last night so that I can at least post a few things over the next week.

Over the summer I finally got Kyle a new book and added some pages to it. I had pages made for him just not in a book anywhere. Actually I had 70 pages complete that were not in a book anywhere. I don't necessarily scrap my pages in chronological order (b/c I scrap what I am inspired to at the moment) but I put them in the book in chronological order. I finally got myself organized with a journal type book. So now I have a list for Kaitlyn, Kyle and Family albums and I know what need to be done and in what order. I put 8 pages in Kyle's book and a couple in Kaitlyn's so I still have a ways to go.

My AHA moment

I was reading a blog yesterday and had the biggest AHA moment. I have always wondered how people make these great scrapbook pages with the perfect size pictures. I want Photoshop Elements for my computer but have not purchased it yet and I figured people must have been loading their pictures and printing them smaller (and I don't print my own pictures). Then I saw this post on Paper Jewels and it hit me like a ton of bricks. Now I cannot download that Shutterfly program because I have a Mac (after all the cute commercials you would think more people would get on board with making programs that work for both PC and Macs, but that is another post entirely). But I do use Shutterfly to upload and print my pictures. I recently discovered this program on my computer called Comic Life. It is supposed to be used to make Comics (and educational ones at that) but I use it to make cute little picture layouts. I can create these layouts and upload them as a jpeg to Shutterfly and then cut them up to have the perfect sized photo. I have been wanting to make some coaster sized scrapbooks but did not have pictures that were small enough to work. DUH, I can print them smaller.

Anyone have any AHA scrapbook moments you would like to share?

Homemade box

I saw this tutorial when I was blurfing (that would be blog surfing) the other day. I wanted to try and make one. I think it turned out okay. It is not as straight as I would like and I am not sure why but it still works. It could hold different things but I made this one for recipes. I am giving it to my friend Courtney tonight. She was the July Bunco hostess but I left her gift at home. I also added a binder clip and a post-it keychain with it.

Dumb black letters

It has been a while since I have posted a new page or card but honestly it has been a while since I created a page or card or anything for that matter. But I have completed 3 pages in the last 2 days. Well 2 of them are not actually complete but I am going to show them to you anyway. My title on this page is not finished because apparently I like these black letters a little too much. I have 3 sheets of them and I have no a's, t's, r's or e's. I will have to buy some more when Amy (aka CM consultant of mine) gets back from vacation. Then I can call it officially complete. You will just have to pretend.

I made this 2-page layout for Kyle's book of our venture at the Bartlett Celebration. I tried to make a hot air balloon and it didn't turn out so well but it kinda works. I also looked everywhere for hot air balloon stickers or embellishments of some sort. I will end up with 3 2-page layouts for this event (for 3 different scrapbooks) but I have no hot air balloon stuff. I did think this checkered paper was perfect for it though.

Blog Candy Finally

I had promised some blog candy in honor of my 100th post about a month ago. Well I never got around to posting it. So here it is. We'll say this is in honor of my 110th post instead. There is some additional ribbon and a circle journaling clear stamp to go with it that is not pictured. So here is a picture of the goods. Easter page

I went to a crop on Friday night and only got one page done. That is my norm though, I usually end up just talking and Friday the talking was good! Anyway I started these Easter pages and then decided it needed this oval in the middle and I did not have the tool to make it so I had to wait until I got home to finish the page. I finished it up tonight. I used Pink Passion for my base along with Cool Caribbean and some strip paper that I don't know where it came from. I stamped the Easter title with Chocolate chip. I even used the blue rhinestones on the edges.

Red and Green

Here are two cards I made the other day again with watercoloring. I have gotten to where I do that on pretty much every card I make lately. Most of the stamps I am picking up to use these days just beg to be watercolored. I also recently got the Prints Pack designed series paper that is the hostess gift in the SU catalog. I wanted to use some of that but just stared blankly at it for a while. Here is what I finally came up with.



Supplies Used: Ruby Red, Wild Wasabi prints, Cameo Coral cardstock; Flower stamp and Warm Words set; Watercolor crayons and aquapainter, oval punch, green brad.

More snow fun pages

Here is another two-page layout from the snow day in March. This time it is for Kaitlyn's book. These are almost the same pictures. I used Vintage Violet (a retired SU color) for my base and some patterned paper from CM. The stickers and journal box are also from CM.

Snow Fun page

Here is another page I created last night. It is a 2 page layout of the snow day we had back in March. This is for Kyle's book. I used my white craft ink to ink my chipboard letters. The base cardstock is Not Quite Navy and I used the polka dot paper from an old simply scrappin' kit.

Sunshine page

I decided to get my scrapbooking out again tonight. My intention was to pick out papers and decide on some page layouts so that next Friday night when I go to a crop I can crank out some pages without having to take a ton of stuff with me. Well I just got carried away and ended up completing 5 pages tonight (after a quick emergency run to my CM consultants house for a couple of tape runners, I had completely run out of tape runner and I was on a roll, Thanks Amy). I did two 2 page spreads and then this page:



I saw a similar page in my Creating Keepsakes that I got in the mail today. It did not turn out as I had envisioned it but at least it is sorta cute and another page marked off the long to do list. This is a page of some random pictures I took one morning before church. It is for Kyle's book.
