Waterslide pages

Thursday, July 16, 2009

I created these two pages trying to round out my 2008 pages. These are from last summer, one is for Kaitlyn's book and one is for Kyle's book.

I used Splitcoast sketch #153 for this page.

Kyle's L2L page

Wednesday, July 15, 2009

I made this page for Kyle's book of him at Lads to Leaders in April. I used Splitcoast sketch #90 for this page.

I used some paper from a pack by Cloud 9 designs. The circles are punched out of a sheet from that pack. I used chocolate 3/4 inch ribbon from Stampin' Up. I typed my journaling on the computer.

scraplifted snow page

Monday, July 13, 2009

I made this page for Kaitlyn's book, it is from the blizzard we had in February. I totally scraplifted it from one of magazine ideas (from Scrapbooks etc.). I used some Heidi Grace patterned paper and rub-ons with blue, pink, and white paper. I also used my circle punches. It is one of the few pages I did from start to finish all in one sitting.

Here is the page from the magazine:

And here is my version, I did orient mine landscape instead of portrait:

teeball page

Friday, July 10, 2009

I decided to make Kyle a sports album. He has played 3 seasons of soccer and two years of teeball so far. I put the first soccer and teeball season in his regular album then decided I have way too many pictures already of this kid with some type of ball so I found a really cute sports themed album at Hobby Lobby.

Here is one page for that album. It is of him attempting to hit the ball being pitched to him instead of hitting from the tee. I copied this idea from one of my magazine ideas I recently purged through. This is one of my favorite pages I have done in a while.

Amy's sketch

Monday, July 6, 2009

I am so into sketches these days. They are just great for giving me a starting place for the pages I create. I went to a crop recently at my CM consultants house and she had made this sketch for us to create a page with.

I love the sketch and hope she makes more (hint, hint!), she is good at it after all.

I made this snowman page using the sketch the night of the crop. It is one of my favorite pages I have created recently. I didn't even feel the need for journaling!

I then made this page a few weeks later using the same sketch. I switched the sides of the pictures plus I added an extra picture on the left side and made the title a little smaller.

Get rid of it already

Saturday, July 4, 2009

I have mounds and mounds of scrapbook magazines. I love to look through them. I have subscriptions to Creating Keepsakes and Scrapbooks etc. I am upset that Simple Scrapbooks is no loner in publication, I loved that one. I recently went to a "garage sale" at my LSS and bought a stack of old Simple Scrapbooks and Memory Makers. I don't really like Memory Makers (they were in the stack with the SS) so I immediately tore I the few pages I liked and put those to the side. I then decided that these magazines are taking over my space but could never bring myself to tear them up. Well I finally did. I have spent the last few nights tearing out the ideas that I like. I haven't gotten to the Creating Keepsakes yet, those are next. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the ideas I tore out and how to organize them.

The right stack is what I am keeping, the left stack is what I am getting rid of. Plus I added three more magazines to the pile after I took this picture!
