Eclectica Free make and takes

Paula and I went to Eclectica on Saturday for their make and takes for NSD (National Scrapbook Day). They had two that you paid for (my post for later in the week, maybe tomorrow) and then these two cards that were free.

CM NSD make and take

I went to a crop last weekend at my Creative Memories consultant's house for NSD. We made a card using her sketch and our free gift (which was a pack of 3x3 squares).



Sorry for the orange background, it was the only paper I had handy here at school to make a background with quick.

Kaitlyn's L2L scrapbook

My daughter, Kaitlyn, participated in the Lads to Leaders program at our church. One of the events you can compete in is scrapbooking. She worked on the group scrapbook for our church and it won 2nd place. Then she also completed her individual scrapbook. They have to have some things included such as a cover, table of contents, introduction, conclusion and it is supposed to center around the theme of convention this year which was "all that you command us we will do and wherever you send us we will go", Joshua 1:16. Her scrapbook won 3rd place in the 3rd-4th grade division!

























Sorry the pictures aren't that great. I was so proud of her and she was so excited!

Kaitlyn-- Happy New Year page

Here is a simple page I made for Kaitlyn's book of New Year's eve photos. I used some CM perfect fit paper from the Everyday pack, green and orange CM accents, and some sparkly black letters.

Kaitlyn -- Christmas morning 08

I am still working towards my goal of being caught up through Dec. 08 by Memorial day. I am going to a crop tonight and hope to finish up a few events and get the materials organized for those last few pages I will need. Here is a page I made the other day for Kaitlyn's book, it is from this past Christmas morning. I do so many Christmas pages through the years that I am trying to steer away from the traditional red/green papers.







Supplies used: Pink Passion background paper, Green Galore accent paper, random tree patterned paper, CM Christmas stickers, Green Galore ink, Brushstroke alphabet stamps.

Kyle - Christmas morning 07 page

I made this page of Christmas morning 07 for Kyle's book. I used another Becky Higgins sketch. Love those! I also used some random polka dot paper for my backround, Real Red and Soft Sky accent paper and some other random stickers I had in my Christmas sticker pile.

Christmas tree page

This is a really simple page. It is for Kaitlyn's book for the Christmas 2007 section. I loved the paper and didn't feel as though I needed to add a whole lot to it. I found the rub-ons, sticker journal box and paper at Archiver's.

Delta Fair page

It has been a while since I have posted anything. We were busy at the beginning of the month with Lads to Leaders and then we have had soccer, softball and now teeball to start. The month of May is craziness for us. We will be at a ballfield somewhere on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays and maybe some Sundays for practice. Wednesday nights are church nights so that leaves me with Tuesdays and Fridays. Hopefully Tuesdays can be TV nights and Fridays can be scrapbook nights. We will see. But I do have several pages already done so I have things to post for at least the next few days.

Anyway I made this page for Kaitlyn's book a while ago. I used sketch #160 from splitcoast.



Supplies used: SU patterned paper for the background, Lovely Lilac, Pink Passion, and Tempting Turquoise accent paper, 3/4 inch circle punch, and the Slice for the letters.

Fingerpainting page 2

I made this page for Kyle's book of him fingerpainting at my niece's birthday party. Just another simple page but I am slowly but surely getting caught up to my goal, which is to be caught up through December 08 by Memorial day in both my kids books. :)

Kyle - Easter 08 page

I made this page for Kyle's book of Easter last year.








I used a sketch for this but I don't remember which one, it was actually a while ago that I created this page. I used my CM perfect fit paper for the green and yellow and used some scrap stripe paper for accent. The chipboard letters are from SU and I inked them with Chocolate Chip craft ink. Then I used an SU chocolate chip marker for my journaling and some random easter egg stickers on the top righthand side.

I made this two page spread for Kyle's book. I used a Becky Higgins sketch again (love those).

take my picture page

I love my son! He was playing at his cousins party and came and said Mommy come take my picture. So I went around the corner and he thought my SIL's front porch was the perfect setting for a picture because it had a swing, LOL! I only took a couple and then he was off playing again but I thought that would make a cute page. I still need to write that story at the bottom but here is the page (almost finished).



I used splitcoast sketch #130 for this page and some of my perfect fit CM paper.

This is a page I made for Kyle's book from our trip last summer to St. Louis. I used a Becky Higgins sketch for this page.

more baby shower thanks

I made a set of these cards for a girl at church. Her shower was Sunday. I had some extra pieces so I also made a gift card instead of a little tag.

Scrapbooking process

I made 5 pages last night while watching ER and an old Without a Trace. I haven't taken a picture of them yet but I thought I would share my scrapbook process. I have set myself a goal of 200 pages to complete in 2009. 100 of those for my project 365 which will really end up with about 106 pages in it but the last few won't be complete until January so that will technically be 2010. The other 100 are for my other albums, mainly Kaitlyn and Kyle's. I am in a challenge with my CM consultant to complete 2 pages per week. So far so good, or at least pretty good. I have only had 2 weeks this year that I have completed 0 pages and last week I only completed 1.

After my pictures are printed I put them in chronologically order. I then pick a few pictures from an event and pick out the background paper, accent paper and embellishments I am going to use.



I put those in this organizer with these folders I got from Creative Memories.

I usually scrap somewhere other than my house (my BIL's, crops, Archiver's, etc.) so this way my stuff is ready to go anytime I want. Then when I sit down to create the page I have all the stuff there. There are plenty of times I decide I want something different for that page so I just save it for later or put it up and work on a different page.

I have also been using sketches a lot lately. I have printed hundreds of them and have a notebook I use to help inspire me.



Some of the sketches I use are from Splitcoaststampers sketch challenges, Becky Higgins sketches, and other sketch blogs. There is a very helpful website here that I found while surfing one day: Sketch Lover.

I find a sketch I like and then arrange my page, I adhere everything then add my stickers or embellishments. Last is the journaling. I am not a big journaler. I have also been typing my journaling a lot more lately. I still handwrite some because I think it is important to have my own handwriting in my books but it just looks so much neater to type and you can really set the tone of the page with the font you choose.

It is a rare thing for me to complete this process from start to finish in one sitting.
