Hurricane Harbor pages

Tuesday, November 25, 2008

Here are the pages I made for my kids book of our trip to Hurricane Harbor, the water park at Six Flags in St. Louis.

The first is Kaitlyn's two page layout. I used the Rainbow Sherbet paper pack as my base with Green Galore and Tempting Turquoise accents. I found these letter stickers that I wanted to use after I had laid out my page and they didn't show up well on the turquoise paper so I put them on white and cut around them. I also used Big Flowers and Little Pieces stamp set and circle punched the images to accent the page.

This two page layout is for Kyle's book. Again I used the Rainbow Sherbet paper pack (great pack for summer time water pictures) but this time I used Apricot Appeal for my accents. I stamped the letters using Letterpress stamp set with Tempting Turquoise ink. I think the left side of this page needs something else, I just can't figure out what it is.

More Photo Coasters

Sunday, November 23, 2008

I made three more sets of photo coasters on Friday night (I went to another crop). These are for my BIL and both SIL's families for Christmas. I am pretty sure they don't read this blog (I can barely get them to read my personal blog) so I think I am safe posting them. I think these turned out much better than the ones I posted the other day.

Kiddie rides page

Friday, November 21, 2008

Here is a two page layout I made for Kyle's book. The pictures are of him riding the rides this summer when we went to Six Flags.

Supplies Used: Base is Pacific Point, Red Riding Hood and some random DP as accents, chipboard that I colored with the red marker, red and brown brads, journaling printed on computer.

8th Birthday party page

Thursday, November 20, 2008

Today is Kaitlyn's birthday so you get two posts from me in one day! My daughter turns 9 today!! This page is of Kaitlyn's 8th birthday party last year. I am really happy with the way this two page layout turned out. She had a scrapbook party. All the girls brought about 5-6 pictures and we made a photo card. I had the party at my friend Amy's house, she is my Creative Memories consultant.

I used a dark purple I got from Archiver's for the base with Tempting Turquoise, Pink Passion and some birthday girl pattern paper for the accents. I used two of the jumbo pewter eyelets and ran a piece eggplant ribbon through it. I had some turquoise bling that I added to the pink paper on the right side. I cut the pictures in the strip on the right side using my 2 inch square punch. I printed my journaling from the computer and used pink sassy CM letters for the title.

Photo coasters

I was so excited to try these yesterday when I got home. I followed this tutorial found on Splitcoast (where else?). I am somewhat happy with the way they turned out. I think my coasters are too dark (you know not white enough). For some reason when I was swiping the modge podge on them they seemed to get dirty. By the last one I did (the one on the bottom right in the first picture) there was black dirty stuff on my brush, and I did wipe off the coasters. Oh well, I was just too thrilled that the pictures actually printed on tissue paper through my printer. I am going to try and get some different coasters and make several of these as gifts for Christmas.

Here are a couple of close ups:
I think the one of just my daughter turned out the best.

A girly page for not-so girly pictures

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Here is one of the pages I did this past weekend. It is the only page that wasn't a two page spread. I made the page real girly even though the pictures are not. This a page of my daughter riding a motorcycle and 4-wheeler one day out at my BIL's house.

So productive!

Monday, November 17, 2008

I was so productive craftly speaking this weekend. I went to a crop on Friday night and then also scrapped at my BIL's on Sat. night and Sun. night. Since my stuff was so organized from me going to the crop it was easy to grab it and take it with me. I got 13 pages complete!!! Well almost complete, I am working on typing up the journaling now and then I will adhere those when I get home. I think that is more pages complete than I have done in 6 months so I am super excited about that. My last few pages were starting to look awfully boring though so I think all my creativity had left me by then. I will have all those to post in the days to come so watch for that. I also made 10 Christmas cards. I got the first finished at the crop and then it was easy to cut the pieces and put them together on Saturday morning.

Here is the picture but keep in mind that my little camera I keep in my purse in broke. The screen is cracked and just shows black. I can still take a picture but I have no idea what I am taking a picture of. This one is actually not too bad and at least it will show you the card. I am too excited about my progress to have to wait to share anything yet. I will try and take a better picture when I get home.

Supplies used: Red Riding hood base for the card, random Christmas DP, Gable Green for the scallop square, 2.5 inch scallop square punch (thanks Amy), 2 inch square punch, markers, celery ribbon and several hot spot Christmas stamps from Archiver's.

ETA: here is a better picture of one of the cards:

Free Make and Take (2)

Wednesday, November 12, 2008

Archiver's had another free make and take this weekend. Here are the two things I made:

We used a piece of acetate to stamp the tree and then shaded the card with the green ink and a sponge. Simple yet pretty!

And I really like this gift tag. I especially like the glitter red paper we used (not sure if you can see the glitter part real well in the photo but it really adds something extra to the tag). Amy and I think we have the two scallop squares (I have one and she has the next size up) so I hope to make some cute tags at the crop this Friday.

Notepads

Monday, November 10, 2008

I made these mini notepads and post-it holders the other day. They are pretty simple and again easily done with the Scor-pal.

Supplies used: Rose Red, Regal Rose, white cardstock; Rose ribbon; Live Your Dream stamp set and I colored my images with the markers.

Mini magazine holder

Friday, November 7, 2008

I made this mini magazine holder yesterday to give to my friend Wendy as a small gift for her upcoming birthday. It holds 6 3x3 notecards. I got the directions for the holder here. With the help of the scor-pal it was really simple. I didn't have time to decorate the holder and the next one I make I will do that.

I used Regal Rose for the holder and white for the notecards. I used the Big Flowers stamp set and some random word set that I have. I used Rose Red, Regal Rose, More Mustard and Old Olive ink to stamp my images.
