I am so into sketches these days. They are just great for giving me a starting place for the pages I create. I went to a crop recently at my CM consultants house and she had made this sketch for us to create a page with.
I love the sketch and hope she makes more (hint, hint!), she is good at it after all.
I made this snowman page using the sketch the night of the crop. It is one of my favorite pages I have created recently. I didn't even feel the need for journaling!
I then made this page a few weeks later using the same sketch. I switched the sides of the pictures plus I added an extra picture on the left side and made the title a little smaller.

Get rid of it already
Saturday, July 4, 2009I have mounds and mounds of scrapbook magazines. I love to look through them. I have subscriptions to Creating Keepsakes and Scrapbooks etc. I am upset that Simple Scrapbooks is no loner in publication, I loved that one. I recently went to a "garage sale" at my LSS and bought a stack of old Simple Scrapbooks and Memory Makers. I don't really like Memory Makers (they were in the stack with the SS) so I immediately tore I the few pages I liked and put those to the side. I then decided that these magazines are taking over my space but could never bring myself to tear them up. Well I finally did. I have spent the last few nights tearing out the ideas that I like. I haven't gotten to the Creating Keepsakes yet, those are next. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the ideas I tore out and how to organize them.
The right stack is what I am keeping, the left stack is what I am getting rid of. Plus I added three more magazines to the pile after I took this picture!

Characters page
Monday, June 29, 2009I made this page for Kyle's book from our St. Louis trip in June 08. He loved meeting all the characters there. I took this concept from several pages that I had seen, mainly in magazines. I created the saying balloon on the pictures in a program on my computer called comic life.
I used some scrap patterned paper, CM navy alphabet letter stickers and a small green journaling box.

Friday, June 26, 2009I made this page for Kaitlyn's book. I rarely do a page with only one picture but this pne definitely deserved its on own page. I used some CM perfect fit paper from the Celebration pack, blue thickers letters, blue and green accent paper and journaled with my blue marker.

Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus page
Thursday, June 25, 2009My goal was to be cuaght up to Dec. 08 with both kids by Memorial Day. I almost made it. I only have a couple more pictures to sort through and decide if I am going to do pages for those or not. Anyway,
I made this page for Kaitlyn's book from this past Christmas. I didn't really use a sketch (a rare thing for me these days). I used some rub-ons, paper and journal box from the same company, I am just not sure which one. I have got to remember to write these things down.

Monogram teacher cards
Tuesday, May 26, 2009I made a set of cards for each of Kaitlyn's teachers (she has two main ones) for the end of the year. I spent all yesterday working on these cards and then even made a little post-it note keychain similar to these, and then the little turkey overslept, missed the bus and didn't go to school. She really didn't have to be there for these last two days anyway but still. So I told her she had to go tomorrow -- mainly to take these gifts I worked so hard on!
Anyway,
I used Chocolate Chip, Taken with Teal and White cardstock, Taken with Teal ink, 1 3/4 inch circle punch, scallop punch, Seeing spots and Antique Upper Alphabet stamp sets and some ribbon I had laying around. These are really simple cards but I hope her teachers enjoy them.

Santa was here page
Thursday, May 21, 2009I made this page a while back for Kaitlyn's book. I used a SCS sketch but it has been so long ago that I do not remember which one I used. I used Rose Red paper for my background and Chocolate Chip and Rose Red PP for accents. I also used some CM stickers and chipboard letters that I inked with Garden Green (I think) craft ink.

shadow picture page
Wednesday, May 6, 2009I loved this picture of my daughter (and I took it by accident kinda) and wanted to make a page around it. I don't usually do one picture page layouts because I think it is kinda a waste but this picture I thought deserved its own page. Plus I loved the flower paper.
Supplies Used: Floral paper background, SU Rose Red accent paper, Slice diecut machine for the flowers and swirls, random stickers.

CM NSD make and take
Monday, May 4, 2009I went to a crop last weekend at my Creative Memories consultant's house for NSD. We made a card using her sketch and our free gift (which was a pack of 3x3 squares).
Sorry for the orange background, it was the only paper I had handy here at school to make a background with quick.

Kaitlyn's L2L scrapbook
Tuesday, April 28, 2009My daughter, Kaitlyn, participated in the Lads to Leaders program at our church. One of the events you can compete in is scrapbooking. She worked on the group scrapbook for our church and it won 2nd place. Then she also completed her individual scrapbook. They have to have some things included such as a cover, table of contents, introduction, conclusion and it is supposed to center around the theme of convention this year which was "all that you command us we will do and wherever you send us we will go", Joshua 1:16. Her scrapbook won 3rd place in the 3rd-4th grade division!
Sorry the pictures aren't that great. I was so proud of her and she was so excited!

Kaitlyn -- Christmas morning 08
Friday, April 24, 2009I am still working towards my goal of being caught up through Dec. 08 by Memorial day. I am going to a crop tonight and hope to finish up a few events and get the materials organized for those last few pages I will need. Here is a page I made the other day for Kaitlyn's book, it is from this past Christmas morning. I do so many Christmas pages through the years that I am trying to steer away from the traditional red/green papers.
Supplies used: Pink Passion background paper, Green Galore accent paper, random tree patterned paper, CM Christmas stickers, Green Galore ink, Brushstroke alphabet stamps.

Kyle - Christmas morning 07 page
Thursday, April 23, 2009I made this page of Christmas morning 07 for Kyle's book. I used another Becky Higgins sketch. Love those! I also used some random polka dot paper for my backround, Real Red and Soft Sky accent paper and some other random stickers I had in my Christmas sticker pile.
